PRESS RELEASE ANNOUNCING THE SIXTH ANNUAL ANTHROPOS ARTS STUDENT/TEACHER CONCERT

On Sunday, May 22nd at Stubb's Barbecue (801 Red River), local Austin I.S.D. students from the Anthropos Arts music education program will perform live on stage with members of Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, Catavento, Atash, Boombox, La Tribu, Vengo, The Grooveline Horns, Critters Buggin, Ephraim Owens Group, Austin Symphony and Lyric Opera, and many other local talents.

Anthropos Arts is a local non-profit music education organization which brings Austin professional musicians into public schools, providing a series of free lessons and workshops to economically disadvantaged students. All proceeds from the show go towards the continuation and expansion of this process.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m.

Students and teachers will perform together from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (Anthropos strings students will perform with ASO members and special guests at 6:00pm, followed by the Anthropos jazz students performing with an all-star band of local and international talents).
