I am writing this letter in support of Dylan Jones and the excellent work he has been doing with the students at Travis High School for the last two years. Travis is a majority minority campus with about 60-70% of our students from low-income families. Many of these students have stayed academically focused and in school because of programs such as Anthropos Music. Most of our students do not have access to private lessons and the only instruction they receive is during the daytime on campus. Dylan Jones has made it possible for these students to work with professional musicians to upgrade their skills, while also conducting educational workshops for large groups of students. I have been at this campus for four years and last year was the first year that we received a level 1 rating in a band contest. I'm sure that the work Dylan and his group are doing on campus has made a difference.
