WHAT WE DO:

Did you know that kids who play an instrument do better on their S.A.T.'s? Anthropos Arts envisions a day when all children, regardless of background, have access to comprehensive, high-quality music education programs in their schools.

In an effort to move toward this goal — and to meet critical current needs in Austin middle and high schools — Anthropos Arts brings top-notch, professional musicians from diverse genres into low-income public schools to lead students through free music programs:

  • workshops,

  • individualized lessons, and

  • master classes.

The students taking lessons finish the school year with a public and highly publicized performance at Stubb's, showcasing their new skills alongside their musician-mentors. The benefits of these efforts go far deeper than learning music and academics, affecting many aspects of these students' lives, from self-discipline to self-esteem and beyond.

CONTRIBUTE:

Lessons for students, in-school jazz workshops, and ALL our programs are only possible because the Austin community supports our work. Will you help too? Click here to make an easy and safe online donation through PayPal.
